Bedtime becomes Floortime

For reasons passing understanding, Porter would not consent to going to sleep in his bed tonight. He cried, yelled, kicked and generally would not go to sleep. Sarah, summoning all the negotiating skills that made her the high-powered attorney she is today, finally worked out a mutially satisfactory settlement in which Porter agreed to fall asleep so long as he was not in the bed and therefore could not be said to have gone to bed. Sarah asked if he would like to perhaps sleep on the floor, to which he enthusiastically replied "yes." So we made up a bed on the floor next to his bed, and he promptly fell asleep.

To update everybody on the family's current health, Sarah and I are relatively okay, though still a bit weak and tired overall. Alice appears to have made a full recovery. Porter, on the other hand, still had a fever today and missed school and a dentist appointment this afternoon. He's been fever-free now since around three. We're hoping he'll be able to return to school again tomorrow. According to his teacher, three other kids and both assistant teachers are out sick so it's definitely making the rounds right now.
