ABCs by TMBG
 | Recommended to us by Pat & Christi when they were here for a visit, the new CD and DVD by the pop band They Might Be Giants, Here Come the ABCs, has quickly become Porter's new favorite. It's a great listen and an ever better series of videos about the letters of the alphabet. Mixing great animation with some interesting puppetry, they've created the coolest learning video since Sesame Street. Their previous kid's album, titled simply No!, was also great for both kids and adults and was easily the best new kid's music done in ages. For those of you who don't know the band, they've been around since the 1980s when they had such hits as Birdhouse in Your Soul, Istanbul (Not Constantinople), Ana Ng and many more. A most iconoclastic band, they've built up a deserved cult-like following. Their live shows are a blast (we saw them many years ago at the Fillmore - in fact Christi was at that show with us) |
