The Thaw?
After arriving in Seattle, we picked up our rental car and headed north for Oak Harbor, which is about a two hour drive from the airport. Oak Harbor is where Sarah's grandparents lived after Pappy (Sarah's grandfather) retired from the Navy. There's a naval base there and it's right on the water at Puget Sound near Deception Pass. During the drive, Porter reached out and played with Alice's face and holding her hand. He's been pretty much ignoring her for the past 11 months with small flourishes of interest here and there. But lately, he's been paying her a little more consistent attention and giving us little signs he's finally accepting his sister, but this was unprecedented.
